Clearing your history
"get rid of list of sites you've visited"
It's often a good idea to occasionally clear out your history. It makes it difficult for sites to track you on the Internet. Not only can you clear out your history in Internet Explorer, but you can also specify how long your history is stored.
To clear out your history:
- In IE, click TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS
- Select the "General" tab
- Press -Clear History-
- Change your history retention period by changing the "Days to keep pages in history"; set to 0 to clear history when you exit Internet Explorer!
You may also want to clear out your "Web Addresses" dropdown history (found on the Address bar). Follow these steps:
- In IE, click TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS
- Select the "Content" tab
- Press -AutoComplete-
- Click -Clear Forms-
