Error from Outlook Express
|
It is possible for some people to experience a connection error when hooking up to FamilyWay from Outlook Express;
First off, it is not an error with FamilyWay's connection. It is probably an error with your settings in Outlook Express, Internet Explorer or Navigator. When you switch Internet providers, sometimes your connection settings are still looking for the old connection or parts of it. Do you see this message?
an error occurred while establishing the dial up Network Connection   If so, then there are two ways to avoid this error;
(1) The Quick & Easy Way As our instructions say; "Always connect to us by clicking on the (FamilyWay) Icon on your Desktop." This will automatically bring up your Internet Explorer, from there, just click on (Read Mail) from the (MAIL) button along the top of Explorer's screen.
(2) Check your Connection settings From your Outlook Express program:- Click on (Tools) then (Options)
- From the Options Box, click on the (Connection) Tab.
- If you have a choice to always connect using my default connection , click on it, and go to step 6..... if not, then click on (Change)
- On the Internet Properties box that pops up, make sure that the connection in the white box has (default) next to it, and make sure it says "FamilyWay". All other connections listed should be removed.
- Down below on the Internet Properties box you will see a short list of connection choices... make sure that (Always dial my default connection) is selected.
- If you've made any changes, click the (Apply) button before closing any of the windows that popped up.
